Canned Beets

Formed in the summer of 2012, Canned Beets has built a buzz opening for Austin, TX favorites (Hard Proof, Peterson Brothers, and Mingo Fishtrap) and playing iconic rooms around town (Continental Club, Antone’s). Canned Beets performs weekly at Half Step Bar, which will roll into it’s third year in May 2016. Catch them Wednesdays, 9- Midnight.

Members RyDogg Johnson (guitar, Tribal Nation/D Madness), Doug Leveton (drums, Black Joe Lewis/KP and the Boom Boom), and Rolf Ordahl (keys/bass, Erin Ivey/The Finest Kind) explore the intersection of improvisation and heavy pocket grooves inspired by organ funk and roots rhythms.
